I joined Ruskin College in April 2010 and currently head the Learning Resources Department (comprised of the Callaghan Library, the IT Department and the Audio-Visual Department) with my main responsibility pertaining to the Callaghan Library.
I have worked in library services since 2010 at Ruskin College, managing the library since 2012. Previous to this I was a senior Bookseller at a large educational bookshop, running a department that included Philosophy, Education, Feminism and Social Sciences. I have a degree in Physical Geography and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies.
My working career has all been around books and literature, initially as a bookseller including meeting regularly with publishers and since 2010 in library services. The electronic environment is a particular interest of mine both from a teaching and resource perspective, as well as the future consequences to printed material.
Ruskin College is an institution that represents what education should be about, offering educational opportunities to everyone and transforming lives. The college vision for ‘a society where everyone has access to quality education regardless of their background, and the opportunity to fulfil their potential’ to me is the most important aim for education across the country.
