Higher Education fees and funding
There are several funding support methods available to those studying a Higher Education degree. Our degree courses fall under this category.
We are part of the University of West London (UWL) Group, you can find more information about support available via the UWL website.
Bursaries and scholarships
We offer the The Sanctuary Scholarship to support students who are seeking sanctuary in the UK to study for an undergraduate degree course at Ruskin College.
We offer the Ruskin College Progression Bursary and the Ruskin College Alumni Bursary to students who have studied an access course at Ruskin and want to progress onto studying a degree course.
Tuition Fee Loan
The most common way to get funding for your undergraduate degree is to apply for a Student Loan.
If you are a UK student, who meets certain criteria, you can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan from the UK Government. This will cover the entire cost of tuition for every year of study, which means you do not have to pay any money towards your fees, while you are studying.
Find out more about applying for a Tuition Fee Loan on the UK Government website.

Maintenance Loan
The Maintenance Loan is designed to support full-time, ordinarily UK resident students and settled students with their living costs eg. food, rent and travel. The amount you can get depends on where you live, where you study and your household income.
Like the Tuition Fee Loan, the Maintenance Loan has to be paid back only when you have left education, are in employment and earning above a set threshold.

Further Education fees and funding
Further Education (FE) includes any study after secondary education that’s not part of Higher Education (eg. not taken as part of an undergraduate or graduate degree).
Our Access to Higher Education courses fall under this category, alongside our short courses.
Advanced Learner Loan
If you're over the age of 19, you may be eligible to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the cost of your course. If you go on to complete a Higher Education course, the cost of this loan may be 'written off' by the Government, meaning you will not have to repay it.
This scheme is run by the UK Government. You can check the eligibility requirements for this loan on the Government website.
Learner Support
If you’re aged 19 or over, on a Further Education course and facing financial hardship, you could get Learner Support.
Learner Support can help pay for things you need to attend your course or study that are not included in your course fees.
This scheme is run by the UK Government. You can check the eligibility requirements for this scheme on the Government website.
